Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC) program for Tanzania

Please be advised that the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has announced that all imported used motor vehicle spare parts, used bicycles, used mobile machinery, and used trailers originating from Japan must undergo inspection while still in Japan.
All importers of the above-mentioned products from Japan are therefore required to contact the authorized agent for inspection and obtain either a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) or a Certificate of Roadworthiness (CoR) prior to shipment to Tanzania.
In this regard, TBS has appointed EAA Company Limited (EAA) as an authorized agent to carry out the Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity to Standards (PVoC) procedure.

To ensure smooth implementation of this requirement, the Bureau is granting a sixty (60)-day transitional period from the date of this notice to allow importers sufficient time to prepare for full compliance. Further details can be found on the TBS website and in its official letter via the attached links.
